Not valid Private Parties or Special Event dates when the park is closed to the. The only good ride in TGE IMO is the Comet the old wooden coaster that was moved from Crystal Beach in Ontario. The course was pretty flat for most of the run except for 2 really large hills that I didn’t even attempt to pretend I could run up. Lake George Escape is nothing short of perfect. You have TGE obviously but you also have Six Flags New England two hours away, Six Flags Great Adventure 3 hours away (3 1/2 if you take 287 instead of NJ 17 and NJ Turnpike), and Six Flags Darien Lake (4 hours). The whole park was dark except for the ride lights which was pretty awesome. It was best to get that out-of-the-way in the beginning but there was no music and a parking lot was kind of boring but eventually we got to the park. Around 9:00PM we began our trek around the parking lot for what seemed like the first mile. The 5K was ironically scheduled for the longest day of the year so we had to wait a little while for the dark so that we would actually glow. I don’t do many of these “fun-runs” but it was at Great Escape, in the dark and since it was their first one I figured I’d give it a try. I picked up my packet (shirt, bib & glow sticks) and went back to the room to glow myself up. I checked in to the Great Escape Lodge on Friday to get ready for the very first Glow for a Run. This weekend I had the opportunity to spend all of my time in all facets of the Great Escape and I can’t wait to talk about all the great new things they have to offer. I had season passes every year I could, The Comet was my first roller coaster and you couldn’t keep me away from Fright Fest. I’ve lived in the Capital Region all of my life and from when I was a kid until now, Six Flags Great Escape (89 Six Flags Dr, Queensbury) was a staple of my summers.
